Show the full opening, including the top, sides and any pipes or brackets. A net stretched across the obvious front can leave entry points at the returns. Discuss where birds enter, whether there is nesting activity and which sections need to open for maintenance.

Select bird-net mesh and edge fixings as one system

Ask for the mesh size, material, outdoor-use specification and fixing method. The choice should suit the bird involved, the exposure and the supporting surface. Confirm how corners and joints will be closed and how tension will be maintained. Avoid judging suitability by colour or thickness alone.

Keep service access without confusing pigeon netting with fall protection

• Identify AC servicing, window cleaning and any required emergency access before the net is fitted.
• Do not treat pigeon netting as a fall-arrest system or as verified protection for children and pets. Those uses require their own assessment and suitable system.
• Ask how birds or active nests will be handled before work begins. Do not enclose wildlife behind the net.

Account for height, perimeter work and future net repairs

Measured area, height, access, mesh specification, perimeter fixings and removal of old netting affect the quotation. Confirm which charges are included. Check for tears, slack edges and reopened gaps after equipment servicing, and follow the supplier's inspection and replacement advice.
